A collaboration between No-To-Scale* & Zan Nureen, is our vision for an urban public space under Penang’s Butterworth Outer Ring Road highway. The entry was entered for the BORR competition organised by Think City and ILA Malaysia.
“Ruang Tamu Kita” was envisioned as a large living room with ample seatings, furniture, play elements to foster the surrounding neighbourhood to interact and mingle within a mix-used programme environment under the shade of the existing freeway.
An open environment with ample space for hawkers & stalls to set-up, a place where local events can be held and sport sessions like taichi or taewkondo group practice can take place. A place where adults and children can enjoy and claim it as their own within the community.
